6 families received new apartments after losing theirs during the massive flood that struck the city in July. The apartments come with furniture and are co-funded by ARDA charity and the govt. The govt requires the residents to destroy their տնակ trailers first.

Gyumri joins Yerevan and will use mini-buses with disability ramp and other accommodations. The pilot program purchased 3 new units from a Russian company for $89k. If it goes well, they'll purchase more.
One will be used for city guests, while the others will "compete" against regular marshrutkas.

Gyumri opened the new weightlifting school named after world-record-holder Yuri Vardanyan. It's a separate facility; the school no longer has to lease land from others.

Gyumri's painters can now host their art in the city's gallery, free of charge. "It's not fancy, but we are very happy that we finally have our place, after years of attempts to find one," said painters.

new modern park
IDeA Foundation is helping Gyumri to create a one of a kind "Friendship" recreational park, which is open for design suggestions by the residents.
A whopping 84 international bidders competed for the project. The winning design will be announced in October.

"This will be Armenia's most modern and green park. It'll attract tourists. It's also a place where Gyumretsis will be able to thank their Friends who helped during the 1988 earthquake."
The Italian carousels they brought 1.5 years ago will be installed in the park. Everything ready by 3Q2022.

part of ex-police chief's Sevan mansion is being demolished
Earlier we learned about how the ex-top-cop Vladimir Gasparyan allegedly built a mansion illegally too close to the lake years ago, then recently attacked Azatutyun journalists who went to document it.
A govt official says part of the mansion, that is below the legal 1905-meter level, is being demolished.

American army vet Peter Debbins was arrested in his home for allegedly spying for Russia after being recruited by his Russian wife's father, who is a military official.
Debbins created a military-security advisory company HLG, which claims it had plans to cooperate with the Kansas National Guard (which already cooperates with Armenia) to launch a new military academy in Armenia.
The U.S. embassy denied any such cooperation plans between the Kansas National Guard and the spy's HLG company.

1127 Armenians have a diplomatic passport: 886 ambassadors and their families, 129 Parliament MPs, 93 state officials.
When asked whether Pashinyan's 19 diplomatic passports were given to businessmen or famous people, MFA said "no, they are all state servants."
MFA says Armenia gave 90% fewer passports in a period compared to pre-revolution. (Context: Serj used to give a diplomatic passport to his remote family members and friends.)

The daughter's horse began running fast and he was left wondering if it's the daughter messing with them. "If you fall, we'll get a lot more views."
They came across women who were collecting berries. "Ձեզ բան ասողի կյանքը թաղեմ," shouted the enthusiastic woman. "Պետք չի, պետք չի, that can be interpreted as hate speech," responded Pashinyan while laughing.
