All the accused are innocent until proven guilty by the court of law. Currency in Armenian Drams unless specified otherwise.
ANOTHER ONE! The former SIS investigator Vahagn Harutyunyan, who was in charge of the original March 1st investigation, has been charged with falsification and an attempt to destroy an evidence. Several other persons, including other SIS agents and police officers, have participated in the evidence tampering.
The investigator knew that the army soldiers illegally participated and shot towards the crowd, but he took steps to hide their involvement, and later presented the shootings as a legally justified force while knowing that wasn't the case.
He's also accused of tempering with the evidence collected from the scene, abuse of power, and falsifications.
More precisely, on March 5th, when they were conducing a forensics firearm examination, he colluded with other SIS officials and a high ranking police officer to replace large quantities of bullet shells fired by the soldiers on March 1st, with bullet shells from a police department, in order to hide the evidence of army's involvement. Around 1,000 shells were replaced. The high ranking police officer, who colluded with the investigator, ordered his subordinates to go to the firing range at Getazat, Ararat and fired thousands of rounds of munitions, collect the shells and bring them to Yerevan to have them replace the shells from the crime scene.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspects. The investigator V. Harutyunyan is on the run. Reminder: he was fired from SIS on July, 2018.
