As you may know, the political parties have been discussing amendments to the electoral code for a while now. The electoral reforms commission head Daniel Ionessyan has submitted the following changes: Require at least 4 parties in the Parliament instead of 3, reduce the minimum passing % to 4% of the votes instead of 5% (+1% for alliances). Parties will receive more free air time for ads. Parties must organize public debates, with at least one being among the leaders. Soldiers will be given time to watch the process to make an informed decision. Recount rules will be relaxed. Election result rigging will be punishable by 8 years in prison, instead of 5. During the earlier proposal, it was also suggested to require military administration to leave the voting stations to allow soldiers to cast the vote without a pressure.
