Syunik borders 101: border "demarcation" process & "GPS"
Context: Armenia's Syunik province was bordering Artsakh's Qashatag province. The latter went under Azeri control, so Syunik now has to border Azerbaijan. Although there is no legal "demarcation/delimination" process to define final legal borders, the two sides have to install their soldiers somewhere, so Armenia uses various tools, such as Soviet-era borders and a law passed in 2010, to define its geographical borders. GPS tools were used to locate the areas after they have already been determined by the aforementioned maps.
Historian Malkhasyan: we need clarification on how the border is drawn. How was it decided that bordering village Shunukh's 11 houses are on the Azeri side of the border. If it's based on a Soviet-era map, then which one? There is a Soviet-era map from 1961 where the disputed Goris-Kapan border road is pictured fully within Armenian borders.
Deputy MP Avinyanb earlier: we're using several old maps, including from 1928-29, which were legally accepted by both countries in the past. There will be other maps during these negotiations.
Foreign Ministry: the process of delimitation and demarcation is an international procedure that requires the creation of a joint committee and expert discussions. For this to take place, the two states must have stable diplomatic relations, so what is happening today is not a final and legal demarcation/delimitation process.
Pashinyan earlier: there is no "delimitation" and "demarcation". The events in Syunik were clarification of border positions. The Republic of Armenia gained its independence on certain land, which was the area of Soviet Armenia, and the Syunik province that existed during the Soviets continues to exists today in its full shape.
State Cadastre Committee official: in the event of border demarcation/delimitation, first you draw the borders which are reflected on the map, then you mark them. What is the use of GPS here? We can actually use any type of geolocation device, be it traditional non-electronic or modern electronic GPS, to pinpoint a location. Either way, some device has to be used to locate a position.
The selection of the type of device depends on the nature of the work. These are precise geolocation tools. Focusing the tool on a static geographic location for 20 seconds gives us a precision of 1-4 centimeters, and up to 8-centimeter altitude precision.
Do not confuse this GPS with the GPS found in your phone or Google.com. What you see on your phone, the 3D buildings, satellite photos, the names of streets on your phone's maps, cannot serve as a basis for professional demarcation work.
Since 2009, Armenia's state border maps existed in the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84). Transfer of data from one coordinate database to another is a purely technical task.

Armenia prepares new ECHR case against Azerbaijan / Property loss & victims
"We have been carrying out preparatory work for a long time: evidence collection, evaluation, complaint preparation. We are going to file a complaint against Azerbaijan soon. It will be about the protection of rights for the wounded, victims, displaced people, and claims regarding lost or damaged properties, which we think are quite numerous," said the Armenian representative to the European Court for Human Rights.
Azerbaijan is also filing an ECHR claim against Armenia over harm caused to its population during the war, the explosive materials in the now-former battlefields, etc.

POWs and search operations
Azerbaijan has transferred the bodies of two Armenian soldiers that were found in the Talish-Mataghis region. Armenian crews resumed the search operations in Hadrut, Fizuli, Jabrayil, and Shushi regions, and found three bodies.

families of conscripts met Pashinyan
Several families gathered in front of the government building to meet the PM to discuss safety assurances for their sons who are scheduled to be deployed in Artsakh. Some families had earlier expressed dissatisfaction and confusion; they thought only Russian peacekeepers would be guarding Artsakh borders and no soldier would be sent from Armenia to Artsakh anymore.
The families met the PM and discussed the concerns. Another meeting will take place a week from now.

Former regime's PM candidate Vazgen Manukyan traveled from Gyumri to Vanadzor on Saturday. It's part of the cross-country campaign to gather supporters and demand PM Pashinyan's resignation. Manukyan does not support snap elections unless he becomes the Prime Minister first.

rumors & rebuttals: your daily fake news briefing
Serj Sargsyan's fugitive son-in-law Mikael Minasyan claimed that deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was a Turkish double-agent who was exposed by NSS earlier. The NSS refuted Mishik's claims. Mirzoyan called for Mishik to be held accountable for "outrageous false reports". Mishik is known for spreading false and manipulated information in the past.

Telegram channel "Mediaport", which is run by the allies of the former regime and is known for spreading false and manipulated information, circulated a document claiming to show proof that Ilham Aliyev's family gave a luxury property to Pashinyan's wife in Dubai. The rumor was circulated by several fellow outlets.
Fact-checkers pointed out that the "property transaction document" presented as evidence was actually a gas payment receipt made by Aliyev's family.

Armenian fabrics factory could benefit from ban on Turkish products
The government banned the import of Turkish products until July. It could be extended. Two Armenian fabric factories had received tax-waivers from the government to produce towels, pillows, bedding. They wash, paint, and sew the product.
Anitex factory's daily 2-tons production could rise to 12 tons after the ban of Turkish products. Their main markets are Armenia, Russia, UAE. "We can fully meet local demand. It's time to ditch the Turkish products," said the CEO. "Our quality is proven by the fact that we're competitive in Russian and UAE markets, and are taking steps to enter European and American markets."
