DADOyan Dim. of TAVITIAN. The Dadoyan family from Dikranagerd traces itself back to Karabakh (Artsakh). Their patriarchal ancestor, Dad, was reportedly the benefactor of Dadivank -- in Armenian: Խութավանք/khutavank, literally 'monastery on the hill' -- an Armenian Apostolic monastery in the Kelbajar District bordering the Martakert Province of the Republic of Artsakh. It was built between the 9th and 13th centuries and is one of the main monastic complexes of medieval Armenia.
