Robert Gedikian is an acclaimed French-Armenian filmmaker.

In 2005 together with actors Arian Askarid and Gerard Meylan he filmed "Towards Armenia".

On September 21 2005, two days after shooting planned for Armenia were finished and before leaving they gave a press conference at "Moscow" cinema in Yerevan.

As Gedikian mentioned the title of the film, is symbolic as Armenia opens a unique world before every Diaspora Armenian visiting Armenia first time, a world which educates and enriches every soul.

Gedikian raises issues that are common to all mankind: search for roots, love, family, parallels from past and present...

Arian Askarid, Gedikian's wife, was also the author of the script. She said that she aimed at revealing the Armenian woman, at going into the essence of the issues that she is concerned with, trying to comprehend them.

And Gerard Meylan was surprised by daily hardships of common Armenians and their kindness and love for art. "By coming to Armenia I became Armenian indeed. Now I am more Armenian than French", he said.

The shootings continued in Marseilles and after completion and premiere in Paris it was expected to participate in 2006 Golden Apricot film festival in Armenia.
