Lachin is the Soviet name for the region that seperates the southern part of Karabakh from Armenia proper. It is now officially called Kashatagh. The main town, which was also known as Lachin is now renamed Berdzor. The road connecting Goris, Armenia to Shushi, Karabakh and the area surrounding the road is usually referred to as the Lachin Corridor.
