Valeriy Osipyan was born in the city of Ashkhabad on April 17, 1970. Pursuant to a Presidential decree issued on May 10, 2018, Valeriy Osipyan was appointed as the Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia.
- In 2000 he graduated from the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, completing Distance learning Jurisprudence courses.
- During 1988-1990, he served in the Armed forces.
- During 17.05.1991 - 16.07.1992 Valery Osipyan served in the police department of the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of the city of Yerevan as a militiaman,
- From 16.07.1992 to 12.01.1994 he served in the Patrol Sentry Service (PSS) Regiment of the Police Department of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Yerevan as a militiaman,
- From 12.01.1994 to 26.10.1994 Valery Osipyan was the commander of the detachment of the PPS regiment of the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Yerevan,
- During 26.10.1994 - 09.12.2009 he occupied various positions in the PPS regiment of the Police Department of the Yerevan City Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia,
- From 09.12.2009 to 28.06.2012 Osipyan was the commander of the PPS regiment of the Yerevan City Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia,
- From 28.06.2012 to 01.10.2012 he was the Head of the Public Order Protection Department of the Yerevan City Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia,
- From 01.10.2012 to 10.05.2018 Valery Osipyan was the Deputy Chief of the Yerevan City Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the service department.
Awards
Pursuant to the decrees of the President of the Republic of Armenia Valeriy Osipyan was conferred:
- in 2009, Medal “For excellent protection of public order”,
- in 2009, 2nd class order for “For service to the Motherland”.
Valeriy Osipyan has also been awarded a number of medals and orders of Police of the Republic of Armenia and other departments.
He is married with 2 sons.
