The Orange Foundation and Shen NGO continue implementing the charity projects aimed at developing the vulnerable rural communities of Armenia, and, in particular, targeting children, their education, health, preschool and physical education.

In the scope of the charity projects a new gym was established in Shinuhayr village of Syunik region equipped with a variety of sports facilities. Presently the gym can fully meet the requirements set by the sports program of the school. The village is populated by 3000 residents, out of which 438 are schoolchildren. The gym will not only serve the children, but also other local residents, in order to organize sport events and contests.

"The Orange Foundation is keeping focus on the issues referring to children and vulnerable rural communities. This is not the first gym opened with the support of the Foundation in the regions of Armenia.

We are happy to note that this gym will enable local people, especially in winter when the season for agricultural works is closed, to make their life active and healthy," said Francis Gelibter, Chairman of the Board of the Orange Foundation.

Orange has invested 2,241,000 AMD for the equipment of the gym.

However, the Orange Foundation and Shen NGO were not the only ones engaged in this initiative. The USAID/CHF and the local community as well had their valuable contribution, in particular, to renovation of the gym.

As a reminder, with the support of Orange 7 other gyms have already been opened in different regions of Armenia - in Malishka village (Vayots Dzor region), in Davit Bek village (Syunik region), in Basen, Arevashat and Marmashen villages (Shirak region) and in Noyemberyan (Tavush region).
