Sergey Sargsyan
Sergey Sargsyan, a stand-up comedian, satirist and writer was born April 7th, 1982 in Tbilisi and soon moved to Yerevan. Since 2007 in cooperation with his friend, comedian and writerNarek Markarian he wrote, directed and performed a series of stand up comedy shows under the title Comedy Night [1]. In 2009 Sergey Sargsyan wrote and published his first book in Armenian under the title The Color of Pink City, that is a humorous novel about Modern-day Yerevan[2][3]. In 2009 Sergey Sargsyan and Narek Markarian founded first comedy blog in Armenia, entitled Armenian Comedy [4], that runs satiric Onion-style articles. Sergey Sargsyan and Narek Markarian give a fresh, funny and controversial [5] [6] interpretation of current Armenian social and political developments.
In 2010 ArmComedy won ArmNet Award [7] for Armenian website with best content [8] [9]. Same year Narek Markarian and Sergey Sargsyan start producing satiric news show series for the Internet under the title 3D Update.
Sergey Sargsyan holds a Ph.D. In English and is a professor at Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov [10].
