Saint Petersburg

Saint Petersburg is a city and a federal subject of Russia located on the Neva River.

There is a big Armenian community in the city and the Armenian Consulate which takes care of Armenians of Northwestern Federal district of Russia.

In October 2005 an Armenian school has been opened in the town of Pskov, an ancient city located in the north-west of Russia. It is a Sunday school and it operated in the building of the Comprehensive school N 14.

The fact of its opening has aroused the elation of the local Armenian community. More than 30 pupils had been registered into the school after the opening.

The necessary number of textbooks had been sent to Saint Petersburg with the support of the Armenian Consulate in the city.
