Ruth Thomasian

Thomasian, a native Bostonian, graduated from Albion College in Michigan with a major in history and received her Masters of Science degree in communications management from Simmons College. Since 1975 when she first began collecting photographs, Thomasian and her staff have developed Project SAVE Armenian Photograph Archives, Inc. into a professional archives of approximately 20,000 images to date, that are available for public use.

Founder and executive director of Project SAVE Armenian photograph Archives. Project SAVE has archival and oral documentation procedures. The collection includes a variety of images of landscapes and families in Historic Armenia in the Ottoman, Russian and Persian empires, as well as in the world-wide diaspora dating from the 1880's to contemporary times.
