Roudik Hovsepyan
File:Roudik HOVSEPYAN.jpg Rouben Hovsepyan was born on May 5, 1939 in Yerevan.
Mr. Hovsepyan graduated from Yerevan State University in 1962 and Moscow Highest Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in 1974. He is an engineer-geologist, scriptwriter and prose writer.
From 1962-1964 he was a geologist in Turkmenistan and Armenia. From 19651966 he worked as a head of division for Avantgarde newspaper. For the next three years he worked for Literary Newspaper as a correspondent. From 1970-1974 he was head of division of Soviet Literature magazine. From 1975-1976 he was general editor for the State Television and Radio Committee. From 1976-1979 he worked for Yerevan on the Air newspaper. In 1980 he was appointed head of division for Soviet Literature magazine. From 1982-1987 he was the head of division and later general editor of Soviet Writer Publishing House. From 1987-1988 he was appointed secretary of the Armenia Writers' Union and in 1989 he was the general editor of Nork magazine.
2000-2003 was his first term as a deputy of the NA (from the proportional list of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation) and he served on the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs and was a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Faction.
On May 25, 2003 he was reelected to the NA from the proportional list of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and he is currently on the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs. He is a member of both the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Faction and party.
Mr. Hovsepyan is married and has two children.
