BURBANK–Western Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Armenia was accompanied by Reverend Krikor Chiftjian as they met with the Assyrian Orthodox Church Western US Prelate Archbishop Yojen Kaplan on June 29 at the latter's prelacy headquarters in Burbank. The churches are sister churches.
Also present at the meeting were Archbishop Youhanna Ibrahim and father Joseph Ferzi of Burbank.
The main topic of the discussion was the relations of the two churches–who have historically been very friendly and brotherly. Bishop Mardirossian also delivered greetings from the Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia Aram I.
On Thursday–Archbishop Kaplan and Father Ferzi paid a respective visit to Western Prelate Bishop Mardirossian at the Western Prelacy.
During the friendly follow-up visit–the two sides discussed the future collaboration and cooperation of the two churches. Mardirossian then invited the Assyrian Church Prelate to one day visit one of the Armenian churches occasion and join the Armenian people in a prayer.
