Mkrtich Minasyan

File:Mkrtich MINASYAN.jpg Mkrtich Minasyan was born on January 2, 1946 in the village of Arevik in the Akhouryan region.

Mr. Minasyan graduated with a degree in engineering-electrical mechanics from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1971. He is a current member of the RA Engineering Academy. He was awarded a Lenin Jubilee Medal in 1970.

From 1964-1980 he worked first as a metalworker and later skilled worker, senior engineer and then secretary of the Party Committee in the Yerevan Hydro Power Station. From 1974-1980 he was a Free Secretary of the Party Committee. He spent the next seven years as an instructor and later head of subdivision in the Industrial Department of ACP Central Committee. From 1987-1988 he was the second secretary and from 1988-1991 first secretary of the ACP Ordzhonikidzeh Regional Committee in Yerevan. From 1991-1993 he was the first deputy chairman and from 1993-1996 chair­man of the Executive Committee of Erebouni Regional Council in Yerevan. In 1996 he was appointed head of the Territorial Department in Yerevan City Council. From 1996­2002 he was the head of Nor Nork District Community in Yerevan.

On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the NA from electoral district # 2 and he is cur­rently on the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs. He is a member of the “People's Deputy” Deputy Group. He is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.

Mr. Minasyan is married and has three children.
