Mihran Dabag

Prof. Dr. Mihran Dabag (* 1944 in Diyarbakir, Turkey) is a German scholar, author and journalist of Armenian decent. He is the founder and head of the Institut für Diaspora- und Genozidforschung at Ruhr-Universität in Bochum (Germany).

He has studied philosophy, history, sociology and political sciences in Bonn and Bochum. He has published numerous books on violence, genocide and colonialism; he is also editor of the Zeitschrift für Genozidforschung (journal for genocide research). In 2003, he was awared the Franz-Werfel-Award for Human Rights Activities.
