Melik Manoukyan

File:Melik MANOUKYAN.jpg Melik Manoukyan was born on May 5, 1955 in the village of Saranist in the Abovyan region.

Mr. Manoukyan graduated with a degree in economics at Ekaterinbourg (Russia) Uralian Institute of National Economy in 1993. He is a Economics PhD.

From 1973-1975 he served in the Soviet Army. For the next fourteen years he worked in the Arzni Haybyureghapaki Plant. In 1989 he founded Saranist Ltd. and became its president. He is a member of the boards of the RA Businessmen and Producers Union and Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the NA from electoral district # 45 and he is currently on the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs. He is a member of the Rule of Law Faction. He has no political party affiliation.

Mr. Manoukyan is married and has five children.
