Masis Mayilian
Masis Mayilian was born in 1967 in the town Stepanakert, Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh)
In 1991 he graduated from the physical-mathematical department of the Stepanakert State Pedagogical Institute (Artsakh State University).
In 1986-1988 served in the Soviet Army.
In 1991-1992 studied in the post-graduate course of the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute by the specialty "social psychology".
From 1992 to 1993 was the leading specialist of the Department of Information and Press at the NKR State Defense Committee.
In 1993 by the creation of the NKR MFA, is moved to the Ministry, where he during different years was head of the desk of international organizations, head of the department of international organizations, advisor to the minister, the head of political department. In 2001 by the resolution of the Republic’s Government Masis Mayilian was appointed as the NKR Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and worked on this position until 2007.
In 1998 studied in the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
From 1993 he has been a member of the NKR delegation at the negotiations on the Nagorno Karabagh conflict settlement.
In 2007 was the main challenger in NKR presidential elections.
From 2004 to 2007 he was also a member of the information security task force of the NKR Security Council.
From 2008 Masis Mayilian chairs the Public Council for Foreign and Security Policy, a Stepanakert-based nongovernmental partnership.
Possesses the diplomatic rank of the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary.
Fluent in Armenian, Russian and English.
Married, has two children.
