Lucineh Hovanissian-Armenian singer, pianist, composer, journalist, doctor

Born in Yerevan(Armenia)in 1973, graduated from Yerevan State Medical University followed by post-graduated studies in the field of neurosciences at Pierre & Marie Curie University in Paris. UNESCO laureate in music(Bursary Aschberg)in 2002, she was the sole and first delegate from Armenia attending World Music Expo in Essen, Germany in 2004. First prize winner(category “Solo Canto”)at the VII International Festival MUSICWORLD in Fivizzano, Italy in 2004. She recorded her debut album in a 12th century rocky monastery in Armenia. "VEM-Sacred songs from Armenia" released in France(SM/Abeille Musique)in 2005 was nominated for Best Classical Voice Album at the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. In 2008 she won the TORONTO EXCLUSIVE MAGAZINE AWARDS/International Artist of the Year, Best Jazz Song, and was nominated for Best Web Site. Her official web site received a NOMINATION for Best Cultural Web Page at the All-Armenian E-content AWARD 2005. An open minded and pluridisciplinar artist, she freely crosses the musical traditions and genres. She has toured in Europe & North America, and has shared the stage with Tinariwen, Lhasa, Maurice El Medioni, Juhani Aaltonen, A Filetta. Ancient soloist of the Armenian National Radio Chamber Choir as well as correspondent for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Armenian service, she speaks 5 languages, and has a Master's Degree in CHILDREN’s DENTISTRY.
