KOMITAS AVENUE IN YEREVAN TO BE REDESIGNED BY "LINCY" FOUNDATION

YEREVAN, January 16. /ARKA/. Komitas Avenue in Yerevan will be redesigned with the sponsorship of the Lincy Foundation, Chief Architect of Yerevan Samvel Danielyan told a press conference.

"The work includes complete repair of the traffic way, pavements, parking places, as well as re-design of trade outlets along the avenue," he said.

Danielyan reported that the project and has been prepared and approved by the Yerevan Mayor. He pointed out that the budget has not yet been approved.

The "Lincy" Foundation launched its activities in Armenia in 2001 and is funded by the US-based Armenian businessman Kirk Kerkorian. Under the first program, the Fund allocated $150mln to Armenia for road and housing construction, repair of Yerevan streets and cultural establishments. The second program is estimated at $60mln. The funds will be equally directed to the construction of roads, repair of Yerevan streets and improvement works in schools.
