Hin Khot, Syunik Marz
Hin Khot in Armenian, Old Khot in English, is the abandoned cliff village in the Vorotan Canyon, below the modern day village of Khot. The villagers were moved up out of the canyon dwellings, which consisted of stone constructions as well as cave dwellings during the Soviet period.
From the village of Khot, heading to the edge of the canyon, a jeep track can be hiked down into the evocative ruins of the old settlement. The views are great in every direction, and a couple of hours can be spent exploring the ruined buildings and caves.
