Gayane Torosyan

Assistant Professor at the Communication Arts Department at State University of New York College at Oneonta.

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Gayane graduated from Yerevan State University with a degree in mathematics. In 1995, she won a two-year graduate fellowship to complete her Masters degree at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication. After working a year with an international media development agency back home, Gayane returned to Iowa with her family in 1998 to work on her doctorate in Mass Communication. She has worked at WSUI/KSUI as a student since 1995, and became a full-time producer in 2000. Since August 2005, she has been teaching mass communication courses at SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY.
