President of Mashdots College in Glendale, California. Served with distinction as President and Dean at the American Armenian International College, 1976-1992. Has authored 12 books on Education and Armenian History. Frequent speaker and MC at numerous Armenian community function in Los Angeles. He teaches educational management at Mashdots College and is recognized as a pioneer in Armenian higher education in the United States. He has presented more than 50 papers at international conferences.

He holds doctoral degrees from Northwestern University and the University of La Verne. In addition, five universities have bestowed upon him honorary doctoral degrees. He is the first diasporan scholar to be inducted into the Armenian Diaspora Academy in Yerevan, Armenia as a member. He has visited Armenia 19 times and has lectured extensively on numerous campuses. In addition, he organizes annual pilgrimages to historic Armenia.

Dr. Der Yeghiayan is actively involved in numerous non-profit organizations. He is the first Rotary International District Governor of Armenian decent. He is a popular speaker within Rotary circles. Has served as workshop leader at presidential conferences, chair of Presidents' Elect Training Seminars, speaker at Rotary Zone Institutes, chair of Membership, Literacy, International Service and Peace conferences committess.

Dr. Der Yeghiayan has received numerous recognitions and proclamations in appreciation of his visionary leadership from local, national and international organizations and government officials.
