In a scene (at 18:28) describing the background of 2 of the main characters in the movie (Georgian mobsters, btw), we are told:

When they were kids, they fled the civil war in Georgia, with only their lives and escaped to Armenia. Their uncle, Avtandil, took them in. To this day, he runs operations for them. But in Armenia, they faced a new kind of war. To survive the streets of Yerevan, they turned to a life of crime.
