Erik Hajikyan Sargsi, born in 2001, a third- year Bachelor student at American University of Armenia Engineering Department. A Karate Champion of Armenia in the youth league. Brother to Edik Hajikyan Sargsi, born in 2002, a loving son to Lilit Chatinyan and Sargis Hajikyan. A loving nephew to Zara Chatinyan.

Erik served as a tanker in the Armenian Armenia, while carrying out his mandatory two -year military service. Erik had to interrupt his university studies in 2019, as he was drafted into two- year army service.

Together with other 50 tankers from Armenia, Erik Hajikyan participated in military drills in Russian Tank biathlon in "Caucasus 2020" in Astrakhan (Russian Federation). The military drills were organized two weeks before the war broke. Erik and his friends have been returned from Russia on October 30th and immediately sent to military actions on the front line with Azerbaijan.

The family and friends, his university and sport club expected him to be back on July 23, 2021. Erik lost his life to the 44 - day war in Artsakh, on October 16, 2020. After 20 days of intense military actions, his tank has been hit by Azeri military drone...

Erik Hajikyan served in the army 1 year and two months... During this time he earned several medals such as "Best Soldier", "Sportsman Soldier", etc. Erik would have had a brilliant future due to his talents, skills, tenacity and hard working. He could have contributed to the development and prosperity of Armenia. The September 27 2020 war took his life, together with other 4000 Armenian brave soldiers and officers who fought bravely to protect Artsakh.
