Charlie Shanian is a writer and actor, originally from Massachusetts. He is the co-author of the musical Adventures in Love (originally produced at the Ordway Theater in St. Paul, Minn.) and the screenplay Welcome to Jaimeville; both written with long-time writing partner, Shari Simpson. As an actor he has appeared off-Broadway in the original production of Maybe Baby, It’s You and in many other regional and New York theater productions. He was a member of Gotham City Improv in New York for many years and performed with them off- and off-off-Broadway. On television, he has guest starred on numerous shows and appeared as a semi-regular on ABCs “10-8.” Shanian lives in Los Angeles with his two dogs, three cats and one and only wife, Tori—whom he met co-starring in the L.A. production of Maybe Baby, It’s You. Sadly, the couple split in 2005 when Tori Spelling revealed that she had found someone else while shooting "Mind Over Murder" in Canada. Tori and Charlie soon divorced.


"Beverly Hills, 90210" actress Tori Spelling split up from her husband, actor/writer Charlie Shanian, after only one year of marriage, her publicist confirmed yesterday.

It appears Spelling, 32, and actor-writer Charlie Shanian, 40, separated one moth ago and Shanian moved out from their house. "The couple have been living apart since the beginning of August, " Tori's publicist declared to E!Online magazine.

Spelling and Shanian met three years ago, in Los Angeles, on the set of "Maybe, Baby It's You". The couple got engaged in November 2003 and married eight months later, before 400 guests in a lavish wedding thrown by Spelling's dad, TV mogul Aaron Spelling.

Tori Spelling appeared in a number of guest roles (mostly in her father's shows) such as "The Love Boat", "T.J. Hooker", "Hotel", "Fantasy Island", "Vega$", and "Saved by the Bell" before landing a regular part in "90210", a series co-produced by her father and Darren Star.

After the series went off the air, Spelling worked mostly in various independent films (often receiving praise for her performances) including "Trick", "The House of Yes", "Scream 2" and "Scary Movie 3".

As for upcoming work, Tori is scheduled to play tricky wife Charlie in the TV comedy, "The Family Plan". Commenting on her latest series, she said, "It's like an old-fashioned 1950s movie plot with Doris Day and Rock Hudson."


90210 star Tori Spelling has split from her husband Charlie Shanian, after just 14 months of marriage.

According to TV show Entertainment Tonight, Spelling and Shanian, who met while doing a play together three years ago, have been living separately since early last month.

The couple exchanged nuptials on July 3, 2004, at Spelling's expansive family home in Los Angeles.

Spelling's father, TV tycoon Aaron Spelling, walked her down the aisle while a reported 400 guests looked on. The lavish affair cost a reported $1,700 a person.

Beverly Hills 90210 actress Tori Spelling and husband Charlie Shanian are calling it quits. Spelling’s publicist confirmed the separation and said the couple has been living apart since August.

The two were married for a little over a year. The 32 year old actress and the 36 year old actor/writer tied the knot on July 3. 2004. Spelling’s famous TV producer father, Aaron Spelling, hosted the 400 guest wedding at his estate. The couple met three years ago while working together in Shanian’s play Maybe, Baby It’s You and were engaged in November 2003.
