File:Artush SIMONYAN.jpg Artoush Simonyan was born on June 2, 1960 in Yerevan.

Mr. Simonyan graduated with a degree in eastern sciences from Yerevan State University in 1982.

From 1981-1982 he worked as a military translator in the Republic of Algeria. From 1982-1984 he worked as a senior scientific associate in the Ye. Charents Art and Literature Museum. For the next four years he was an instructor in the LCYU Central Committee. From 1988-1996 he was the deputy director of the Kanaker Sewing Factory. From 1996-1998 he was the representative of Armenian Airlines in Moscow and from 1998-2003 he was the deputy director.

On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the NA from electoral district # 5 and he is cur­rently on the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the “People's Deputy” Deputy Group. He has no political party affiliation.

Mr. Simonyan is married and has four children.
