Television in Armenia is either owned by the state (H1 and H2), or it is tightly controlled by the state. Yerevan has the most channels being broadcast, while there are also smaller, regional channels. Once popular station A1+ has been off the air for years for criticizing the government.

There is the famous case of A1+.
In October, 2007 GALA TV was raided by tax officials after being one of the only stations to broadcast an opposition speech.
