Oldest Rug in the World
The oldest rug known to survive in the world, known as the Pazyryk carpet, was found frozen in the ice in Siberia. According to most sources, it was manufactured in Ancient Armenia, using the Armenian double knot and Armenian cochineal for the red color. It is displayed at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
