Professor Lousin served as a research assistant to the Sixth Illinois Constitutional Convention in 1970, where she aided in the drafting of virtually every article of the constitution. She was staff assistant to the speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1971 to 1975, including a term as parliamentarian of the House. She has been a member of the full-time faculty since 1975. Professor Lousin served as chairman of the Illinois State Civil Service Commission from 1977 through 1983 and is an active member of civic and bar associations. She teaches sales transactions and secured transactions and lectures and writes on those topics. She has also taught, written and lectured extensively on Illinois legislation and the Illinois constitution, topics on which she is also a recognized authority.
