ARF Dashnaktsutyun Western U.S.A. v. Armenian Revolutionary Federation WUSA
In June 2018, there were elections for the 11 board members of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Western U.S.A. central comittee, which was the official and independent ARF organization for the Western United States. The worldwide bureau of the ARF in Armenia was not happy with the results of the election, and began to try to change the makeup of the board, first in part, then in whole. When the locally elected committee did not allow this, the bureau created a second ARF organization that mirrored the first, and some of their loyalists took much of their assets and social media accounts.
These actions triggered the July 9, 2021 lawsuit (Case No. 2:21-cv-05594) ARF Dashnaktsutyun Western U.S.A. v. Armenian Revolutionary Federation WUSA in Los Angeles, filed by the local organization. In response the bureau's new organization requested the court accept their own board as the legitimate board (Case Number 21STCP01785), which the court denied in a tentative decision on January 18, 2022.
