User talk:Pigh
Hi Pigh, welcome to Armeniapedia! I've noticed your work on the Karabakh topic, but I have issues with it, and that is why I have not accepted them. The map is an important feature of the page, but the one you've used has 2 issues. The clarity is so poor I cannot even tell what language it is in, and it includes territories that I am under the impression that Karabakh does not even claim. Now if you have a map with these territories and they are labeled clearly, then that would be another situation, and I think it would be ideal, but for now, I think the old map on top, and adding the new map somewhere below in the article would be ideal. As for the origin of the work Karabakh - it is "Turkic", not necessarily "Turkish". The people in the area were not called Turks but Tatars, until they were called Azeris a hundred years ago. They are Turkic though, so the description is in my opinion the most accurate. Again, these are technical differences, and not terribly important, but I would love to see a great deal of work done to expand the subject of Karabakh/Artsakh here. I would not, however like to see a simple cut and paste from Wikipedia. So feel free to expand some more, but perhaps if there are things which you would like to discuss first, we can discuss it on the Karabakh talk page. Thanks, --Raffi 06:52, 12 December 2008 (PST)
