Dr. Aghababian is the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education at UMMC. He trained in Emergency Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco, CA and in Internal Medicine at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine.

Research/Professional Interests and Activities

  • Using the knowledge and experience gained during his 20 years of emergency medicine practice at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Aghababian has been involved in developing the specialty of Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Service Systems in several countries. Dr Aghababian continues to pursue a long-term interest in Disaster Medicine, the management of patients with acute cardiovascular diseases and Emergency Department treatment of patients with infectious diseases.
