Status

Rare species. Under the threat of disappearing. Another small population of fern has just recently been found after a very long break.

Habitat in Armenia

Met in the floristic region of Aparan, around village Arzakan, later in Zangezur.

Habitat and ecology

Grows in forests, humid glades, and on the hill foots.

Biology and potential value

This species has a great scientific value for Armenia.

Measures of protection

Protection of the species as Arzakan Village surrounding is being used for resort purposes, and this species may have already disappeared in that region. The second population, although is within a reserve, is not being protected well, either.
