NO HELP FOR ARMENIANS
Unless It Comes from Our Government, says Mgr. Dolci
SEPTEMBER 27, 1915
ROME, Sept. 26, (via Paris.)--The Apostolic Delegate at Constantinople, Mgr. Dolci, has to the Vatican a report describing the massacre of Armenians. He says that in the present situation of the European powers Germany and Austria cannot interfere because they are allied with Turkey, while the others powers can do nothing because they are at war with Turkey.
The only possible assistance, adds Mgr. Dolci, can come from America, whose Ambassador is using every effort to relieve and protect the persecuted Armenians; But "the needs are greater than the means; but "the needs are greater than the means to enforce the humanitarian principles which he represents."
