Gor Abrahamian

Gor Abrahamian is a politician. He has worked for UMCOR charity organization.

In November 2005 as an independent candidate, Abrahamian was elected mayor of Aparan town in Aragatsotn province in Armenia defeating his only rival, acting mayor Razmik Petrosian.

Out of 5,437 eligible voters, 3,746 went to the polls. Abrahamian, received 1,901 votes and his rival 1,713 votes.

No incidents marring the election were reported. Election of Aparan mayor had been originally slated for October 23 2005, but the polls were canceled after all three candidates withdrew.

Both candidates, Gor Abrahamian and Razmik Petrosian, were members of Nig-Aparan non-governmental organization, whose honorary chairman was Aghvan Hovsepian, then chief prosecutor.
