File:Galanthus transcaucasicus.JPG Rare species. Only a few populations of this plant have been known in Armenia. The most southern ones have most likely disappeared.

Habitat in Armenia

Met in the floristic regions of Zangezur and Meghri.

Habitat and ecology

Grows mostly in hornbeam forests.

Biology and potential value

One of the early blossoming flowers. Should be also grown in parks. Has medicinal interest. Medicinal plant, contains pharmacological active substances – galantamin, likorin, etc.

Measures of protection

Protection over the populations should be made. Should be introduced to botanical parks.
