Status

Unique and rare fern in the Caucasus. Known only from a few populations in Armenia.

Habitat in Armenia

Met only in the Meghri region.

Habitat and ecology

Grows in in-between rocks, under the rocks, and in semi-desert places.

Biology and potential value

Used to rocks. One of the most xerophilous ferns being able to stand severe winters and dry summers. Has a huge scientific value.

Measures of protection

Strict control over the population in Armenia is required. Should be also included in the Botanical Park of Yerevan.
