Status

Very rare species. Natural habitat is rapidly decreasing. Only a few small populations of this species known.

Habitat in Armenia

Grows only in the floristic region of Shirak.

Habitat and ecology

Grows in dry rocky hills, on the height of 1400 – 2000 meters above sea level.

Biology and potential value

Blossoms in June – July. High decorative plant. Has huge scientific value.

Measures of protection

A reserve in Shirak Marz should be developed. Should be also included in the botanical parks.
