Status

Very rare species. Only four populations are known in the world; two of them are in Armenia.

Habitat in Armenia

Met in the floristic regions of Zangezur and Sevan.

Habitat and ecology

Grows in rocky hills, on the height of 2000 - 3000 meters above sea level.

Biology and potential value

Has scientific and economic (as aromatic) interest.

Measures of protection

Due to the creation of ‘Sevan’ National Park, one of the populations will be protected. Reserve should also be developed on Mt. Khustup in Zangezur.
