Askeran

Askeran (Ասկերան in Armenian) is a province of Nagorno-Karabakh. The region surrounds the capital city of Stepanakert, which is its own province. The administrative center of the Askeran is a town of the same name, Askeran Town. It is coterminous with the Azerbaijani rayon of Khojali, and is wholly under Armenian control.
